The link with Nandyal connects us with the ecumenical Church of South India.
Snapshot
The Diocese of Nandyal is located in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Led by Bishop Pushpalalitha Eggoni, it is releasing clergy and lay people into flourishing parishes and inspiring projects, such as a school for blind people and training centres for girls. These ministries are offered with a deep-set confidence in the gospel of Christ and a profound hope in the coming of God’s Kingdom.

Our Activities
Our partnership involves sharing of prayer, ideas and experiences and focuses on exchange visits in both directions. In these visits, we are able to share something of our own contexts and to learn from each other.
In 2022, we hosted visitors to our clergy conference, and Bishop Pushpa joined in an online session with Bishop Steven, Bishop Brian (Kimberley and Kuruman) and Bishop Fredrik (Växjö) to discuss the impacts of the COVID pandemic and the ways in which church life was changing in its aftermath.
Bishop Pushpa also visited the diocese before the Lambeth Conference.
In May of 2023, Bishop Gavin led a group on pilgrimage to share in the life of Nandyal Diocese.
The group were able to visit a number of parishes and to participate in a range of diocesan activities.

There are also links between some of our primary schools and schools both in Nandyal and throughout the Church of South India. All the schools are working on caring for the environment; the Indian schools are part of the 'Green Schools' programme. This partnership has been facilitated by USPG, which has prepared an excellent video about the Green Schools programme.
In October 2023, an education team visited to exchange ideas around schoolsand think about how we could strengthen our links.
